Parsa Jafarian

Hey! I'm Parsa, a Software Engineering student at McGill University.

I love coding, math, and anything tech-related! I’ve worked with Java, Python, C++, and web development for a couple of years now.

I interned at Transport Canada as a Data Analyst, where I used Power BI and SQL to analyze large datasets. I've also gained full-stack development experience at Tail’ed, working extensively with Next.js and TypeScript.

Outside of work and school, I explore embedded systems through engineering design teams and apply data science to solve real-world problems.

When I’m not coding, you’ll find me playing piano, picking up a new language, or diving into a good book.

Skills & Experiences

Through my internships, I have developed a versatile skill set, excelling in full-stack development—honed through hackathons and my internship at Tail'ed. My experience in machine learning & data science stems from my internship at Transport Canada and various projects. Additionally, my involvement in engineering classes & design teams has given me hands-on experience with low level technologies such as C, Arduino & VHDL.

Web Development

Full-stack web development with React, Next.js, Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. Experienced in front-end development using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and ShadCN. At Tail’ed, a startup I worked at, I extensively used Next.js with TypeScript and ShadCN to build scalable and maintainable web applications.

Database Infrastructure

Creating SQL-based or NoSQL-based databases with MySQL, MongoDB, and Firebase, primarily for authentication and hackathons. Experienced with Oracle and Apache Spark from my work at Transport Canada, where I aggregated large datasets using SQL.

DevOps

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, leveraging GitHub Actions for continuous integration. Familiar with Azure DevOps and Jira for project management and Agile workflows. Worked with Databricks for ETL processes and utilized Power Automate to streamline task automation.
